Calathea makoyana, commonly known as Peacock Plant or Cathedral Windows, is native to eastern Brazil. This exotic-looking plant will make an excellent addition to nearly any patio or porch. Since the Peacock Plant is non-toxic to dogs and cats, it will also bring an elegant tropical feel to nearly any well-lit part of the house with no direct sunlight. The Peacock Plant is well-known for its glossy leaves with elegant patters which grow at the end of long stems. This plant has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
